Hello all,
My kids and I are doing a complete frame up restoration of a 76 CJ5 .
We are finishing up the frame and are almost ready to slowly reassemble.
Has anyone had any experience with using one of these bolt kits. I want to use all new fasteners and am thinking this might be good. Any thoughts.

Thanks for any input.

I am not familiar with the kits. I would suggest measuring the length you need and getting a variety of lengths from a quality fastener or hardware store.

I use Grade 5 hardware with a nylon locking nut. I use a longer bolt and put a nylon protector cap on the bottom. The cap keeps the threads cleaner and is a bit kinder to the knuckles, elbows, and scalp when working underneath.

I don't recommend stainless as the threads gall very easily and they are hard to remove and replace.

Good Luck

Looks pretty spendy for 10#s of SS bolts. I get my SS bolts at a surplus shop for$2.99 a #.

SS bolts will gall but don't use an air wrench to spin them on and no problems. Never been an issue removing them on my CJ. And I've got #s of them.

Certin places you don't want SS. Button heads look cool, but can strip the head easily. I only used thm on my dash.

Besides your kids will have fun making the list.
