- 77CJ5, inline 6 cylinder 258. Front disc, rear drum.
All stop vehicle. Second owner. Have owned since 1985. 100,000 +/- original miles.
O.K. I have a 77 CJ5 . Front disk, rear drum. All stock at this time.
The jeep has been in my garage for 10 years and has not been driven.
I've recently (past month) replaced the front calipers, rear wheel cylinders, master cylinder, power assist booster and the flexible brake lines at all 4 wheels. I am fighting a soft to non existant pedal. I can bleed the brakes and get a solid pedal. Once I start the vehicle, the pedal turns to mush.......
I have been told that I might have a bad master cylinder (I have changed it as mentioned above) or that the proportioning valve could be stuck....
Any thoughts appreciated......
