I know a few of you guys have switched out your proportioning valves so I have a question. I have 3/16 hard line for my rear brakes. My new proportioning valve has a 9/16-18 female 1/4 tube fitting coming off of it. Well my brake line is 3/16 so it's not going to fit the proportioning valve. I have been looking for a reduce to go from 9/16-18 male for 1/4 tube to any size 3/16 tube and there is NOTHING! what did you guys do?

I am pretty sure the adapter you are looking for is pretty standard. You might try a brake shop for what you are looking for. When I purchased a Crown replacement prop valve that adapter came with it.

Well I went to the auto parts store and had to make this mess up. I really didn't want to do it like this but I really have no other choice. I had to use two adapters to get the 1/4 outlet down to a 3/16 line. They all fit nice and snug I just hope there is no leaks!

ya did good!!:D

hi can anyone help me i need two fittings to reduce down from 9/16 18 tpi 1/4 bore down to 7/16 24tpi 3/16 bore like in the posts above for my new combination valve - trouble is these are very hard to find in the uk - its all metric here! - can anyone help me with such parts available to order mail order, some links or contacts would be greatly appreciated as im finding all this very confusing over the web to see if im ordering the correct type and fit. thanks all

Hi Dave , many thanks for the info, but are there any adaptors out there that i could use so not to have to re flare the pipe? if not could you recommend a correct flaring tool for the CJ7 fittings?
