- 76 cj 5 360, 999 tranny and dana 300 transfer case, dana 44 rear and dana 30 front diff
some people have cut the brake rod and threaded it, screwed a coupling onto it and threaded the other end of the brake rod so that they can make adjustments easily

If you thread it, make sure you use jam nuts on each end so it won't move.
I cut it and used a sleeve. Determined the length and welded it.
Your choice - either will work.
