Ok, finally got all of the brakes buttoned up and forgot all about the brake switch in the middle of my proportioning vavle. I replace the factory valve with one from Morris 4x4 and it is an exact match, except the brake switch has a different plug. I tried swapping out the old plug, but the hole size is different. Has anyone converted this from two wires to one wire? The original switch has two wires and the new valve only has one. I found the wires on the diagram, but this is where my electrical expertise ends. Anyone have ideas or solutions? Thanks.

I purchased a prop valve that was made by Crown for my '86 and had to pay a few extra bucks to get a mating plug to go with it.
 
My new prop valve came with the plug, it is that my wiring harness connector is a two wire connector. It won't plug in, and I am told by Morris 4x4 that there is no optional plug; therefor I am stuck with trying to figure out how to make this work. I am pretty sure one of the wires are a ground, but I have not been able to decipher that on the wiring harness. I am going to take another look tonight at the wiring diagram and see if the obvious is staring me in the face. Thanks.

One of two scenarios here...

If neither wire is 12v w/ key on Run, odds are they just get tied-together at the brake switch.

If one wire is 12v on Run, you might need a relay to make it all work right, in which case I would seek out a "floating" brake light switch. Sounds like you have a grounded one.

Thanks jdarg. I looked back through the wiring diagram and with the two wires coming from the prop valve, they trace back to 57A and 57B, from what I can tell on the chart. 57A looks like it runs to the actual brake pedal and 57B runs to the emergency brake. I was completely off on my thinking, as I thought this was maybe a sensor to let you know something was wrong with your brakes. There is a brake (idiot light, sorry hope I don't affend anyone) light in the speedo cluster. This is where I thought it should go and "light-up" if something were to go bad with the brakes. I am back to square one now and will have to wait until later to work this problem. Too many other bigger items to work now. If anyone comes up with any possible leads, I am also up to suggestions.
BTW jdarg, I will check the wire to see if one is 12v or if they are both grounding type. Thanks.
