- 1979 Jeep CJ7 TH400 Automatic 258 I6 Quadratrac Amc 20 rear & Dana 30 front, 32 x 11.5 x 15 tires. Currently a Complete Custom Rebuild in progress.
Also I own a 2001 Jeep Cherokee, White, all stock with 4.0L. automatic, and police package. Best part of that is it came with leather seats! This package also has the NP242 Transfer Case, 8.25 rear end, and trailer towing package.
So I didn't use a Jeep this time, but I took my grandson on his first camping trip with me. His family goes camping in their travel trailer, but we did the old tent thing. We had a lot of fun. The whole weekend was awesome. Texas has a really GREAT State Park system. We went to Government Canyon State Nature Area just West of San Antonio. Not a far drive by any means. I picked him up after school on Friday and we came home around noon on Sunday. Lot of trails to hike. We did one Saturday that was 5 miles round trip. Had to push him a little to get it done, but a lot of fun for both of us. Here are a few pictures of our weekend:

Our Tent:
Cooking our first meal:
Foil packs with Hamburger, Potatoes, Carrots, gravy mix, and ketchup:
Yum!
The grandson learns how to chop some wood:
Our hiking trail on Saturday:
Guess who else has been here?
My grandson also learned how to build and start a fire:
And we have flames!
Nice fire:
The two Great Explores at the trail head!
What an awesome weekend at a Great place!
