So I want a MC 2100 for my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l , but I came across this carb yesterday and wondered if you guys knew anything about it. It was at my friend's house and he didn't know much about it.

Thanks.

I would guess a Rochester 2 barrel, 2GC . They ran on Jeeps 225 Engine from 66-71. Also other GM vehicles. Buicks I think.

Think it would be worth it to rebuild it and run it on my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l ? I wanted to replace the carter because it doesn't run well on steep wheeling grades. Or should I just save and get the 2100? The only reason I ask is because this one is free.

i would spent the money on a rebuild kit and try it out. its a lot less expensive than a new carb. you never know, it might just work really well. or it could be :dung:, i dont know:confused:

:agree: a rebuild kit is cheap give it a shot.

Thanks. I found this:
Carburetor Info Page
KT-5377 - Carburetors Unlimited

I know that I would want a 1.08 venturi with the 2100 on the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . How big is this one? I can't find a venturi size or CFM listed.

Another rebuild kit:
Rochester 2G carburetor rebuild kit BUICK 1977-78 CHEVROLET 1978 OLDSMOBIL

Not a lot of money and it seems complete.

Will this mount right up to my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l ? I don't know what it came off of and I don't know what that backing plate was for. Where could I get a correct one?

Thanks for the help. Saving money versus buying a new 2100 is a good thing. My carter sucks in the woods, but it is decent on the road. I would like a carb that is good in both places. :chug:
