I have a 69 CJ5 with the Dauntless Buick 225 V6 225 V6 and it has a rochester 2g carb # 7027082 that's seen better days and needs to be rebuilt.

I have a chance to get a new old stock 2gv rochester #7028088.

Any chance I can make the 2GV work on my jeep?

what vehicle would that carb have been used on? The thing to consider is throttle bore size, venturi size, fuel inlet orientation, using stock air cleaner.
I have the Rochester 2GC model on both my Dauntless Buick 225 V6 motors with electric choke conversion(mountainman carbs.-ebay) and they work flawless.
OF course the roch. 2 barrel was manuf. in many, many variations so have you laid eyeballs on this n.o.s. carb?
I also have two spares that are rebuild with electric chokes on the shelf
just in case. They are getting harder to find ,even cores ,and the prices have gone up accordingly. :) mike

After doing a little research I found both of those carb numbers listed for
jeep V-6 engine. The one you are considering buying was probably O.E. on a Jeepster that had automatic choke. If you don't convert to electric choke you will need to fabricate a choke stove on exhaust manifold to get warm air to choke housing. If you go with a electric choke all you would need is a ign. hot 12volts to choke. I guess you will be putting a kit in the new carb to make it compatible with ethanol blended fuel.:)mike
