Laying in a hospital bed recovering from neck surgery.

Right arm went numb and felt like it was on fire a few weeks ago. Bone spurs, ruptured discs, arthritis...and on not even 40 years old. The doc fused three vertebrae together, so hopefully that does the trick.

Disappointing because I was hot and heavy in my 351w build. I don't expect to pick it back up until March or April. Just a lot of staring and daydreaming about driving.

Whoa! Take it easy! I know recovery from surgery sucks (i’ve had 5 in the last 7yrs) Hope recovery comes quick & without complication!

Thanks for the kind words, man. Doing a lot better right now.

Recovery is going to suck...I have 3 young boys that rule the house...a 6yo, and 4yo twins. If the wife doesn't murder me, I'll be looking to ask to Pope to cannonize her as a saint! Ha!

I know how that goes! We have 10yo & 6yo boys. Last surgery was just before our oldest’s bday last year. My wife truly is a Saint for dealing with my moody post-surgery self.

I always tried to keep myself occupied mentally day dreaming build plans.

Take it easy and you will be back up and around. I had a cervical disc replacement in July at C6-C7 after a fusion a couple years ago at C5-C6. I know it sucks laying around but you will be glad you did when it heals up the way it should. Feels like we shouldn't be falling apart so bad though doesn't it?

Household 6 thought she was going to have to strap me down because I despise just sitting around. LOL

Get well.

Sorry to hear...hang tough and don’t overdo as you heal

Sucks you’re going through it , especially at your age, but, believe me, be glad you didn’t ignore it and just put it off...my old man did and he’s in bad shape because of it

Get well soon

Wow dude very sorry to hear that you needed such a serious surgery so young will be praying for your speedy recovery

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Back home from the hospital. Definitely going to be a while before I can do anything.

About a month of being hemmed up in a hard brace.

Hopefully head of household doesnt murder me in my sleep!!

Sounds like you will have some time to plan things out. Being in a Jeep Clubs for the last 30 years we used to get together and talk about gears, lockers, and Jeep trips, now we talk about aches, pains, and trips to the doctor.

Main thing is taking it easy for some time and don't get stupid and try doing things early. Get better first

Don't you worry about that! I have a buddy that had the exact same surgery and he didn't give himself enough time to heal. Had to do the surgery all over again and now he's more jacked up than he was before. Screw that!

Yeah that's why I said it. Have seen that a few times. Corrections are never good

No worries, you'll be back in the saddle before you know it!
Chin up they say. ; )

Hey - How goes the recovery? Out of your brace yet?

Haven’t seen an update lately, so we’re hoping you haven’t been snuffed in your sleep!!

Hope you’re feeling better!!

Oh man! Sorry to leave ya'll hanging!

Recovery is going well. Out of the neck brace and I'm back to work. Been to a couple local Jeep meetups and snagged a few good Winning! pics along the way.

Still going to be a while before the neck is 100%, but I'm able to drive around...not quite at a place where I can work on it...the project list got really long while I was laid up...

Still have some pretty good lingering pain and numbness in my arm, so they're going to do another MRI of my neck and some nerve test on my arm. From what I hear, they're no fun and include a lot of needles. It's one of those things where nothing makes it better or worse, so I'm prepared to hear that there's nothing they can do about it. Nerve damage can be funny that way, I guess. The arm stuff doesn't keep me from doing anything, so that's a plus.

I should be back to wrenching in a few more weeks. First on the list is a tire carrier rear bumper from Dirtworx...probably a front bumper to match...not sure though, I really like the way my current one looks.

I had an artificial disc put in at C6-C7 last year and a fusion done at C5-C6 several years ago. The latest operation got rid of the worst of the pain but I still have some numbness. Luckily I can still move my head. Hope your recovery keeps going well. This whole getting old thing sucks.

I just found this thread. Sorry you are going through this. Hope the tests go well.
