Carb rebuild question

Alright guys so I've had hell since day one with carburators and this AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l .
Started out with a Carter, which was missing the stepper motor, so I ordered a 2150 from the ebay guy, that done good till it set up for a little over a year due to Transmission going out, once the Transmission was replaced then it didn't want to run right. A buddy of mine had a Holley 2300 that had sit up for about 4-5 years. Put that on and she ran like a top for a couple days, parked it up while I was gone to work for two weeks came back and now it's running like
again.
I picked up a rebuild kit for the 2150 from orileys and plan on tearing it down and rebuilding it.
I haven't ever rebuilt a carb other than a couple chainsaw carbs so my question is.
What's going to be the best way to go about doing this?
I don't have any kind of ultrasonic equipment.
I would assume I need to tear it completely apart and let it soak in something first, then go about scrubbing and rinsing, then spraying it with carb cleaner then blowing it off with air. But that's just a guess
Can some of y'all point me in the right direction by any chance?
If I need to soak it in a solution for a little bit what solution do you recommend and for how long?
I leave out for work in the morning and will be gone for two weeks so I'd like to use that time to get my head wrapped around it before I get back home
Thanks in advance
