Carburetor question

I’ve attached a photo of my carburetor that I think is a Edelbrock. My question is the right lower portion of the carb gas a threaded port that isn’t attached to anything. This jeep is new to me, the bowl doesn’t stay full when you go to crank it. I think it is the mechanical fuel pump, but the threaded portion in the photo has me confused and I have no idea if it’s supposed to be that way. The vehicle runs fine, minus the delay in cranking that is attributed fuel bowl being dry. Any help identifying that threaded portion would be appreciated.

That is a Webber carb. Either a 32 or a 36. The brass fitting you see is going to a breather hose or something similar. Can you take a picture of the other end of the hose connection?
BTW, that is one very clean engine and engine bay. No oil or contaminates anywhere.

I was just about to post that Chat GPT probably didn’t get the type right. I definitely will when I get home. Fortunately, the gentleman that sold it to me took. Very good care of her. All I really have to do is the Transmission , gas tank float if it isn't grounded, and the speedometer so far. I’ve got some other questions state general I’ll be posting about her. I cannot express how thankful I am to have found this website. Everyone is very nice and helpful, definitely a good community!
