I ordered the Centerforce II clutch kit from quadratec. The kit came with two disc which is throwing me off. I called quadratec and they stated is was a two disk clutch. Called back and the guy stated that it should have come with only one, but does not know why I got two. I'm not sure which one to use now. As you can see in the picture, they are different. I hope one of you can help me out with this and get me pointed in the right direction.

The gold one in the top right of the photo is (or used to be) for the Centerforce III, it's a racing disc. I ran one in a '68 Chevelle but I wouldn't run one in a Jeep for a driver.

A true dual disc setup will have a special flywheel and a plate between the two discs. I would use the full disc which is probably organic material as opposed to ceramic puc disc which is usually harder on the surfaces of the flywheel and pressure plate.

More than likely, what does your invoice show? Or the directions if any (I know who reads directions) LOL

The Pressure Plate looks like one from a Centerforce III. I think the CII has less weights on it. Probably the wrong parts packaged in the right box.

boy i had lots of fun with the Centerforce III in my old Dodge truck, definitely not good for a Jeep, always felt like it was either fully engaged or fully dis engaged not much in between, makes for great burnouts

I am running the C II clutch in the Jeep and its great, however looks like you have the whole Centerforce 3 clutch I remember my pressure plate was that orange color and the disc was gold like the one on the right in your pic, my centerforce 2 clutch has a gold pressure plate and the disc like the one in the center of your pic

Looks like you guys are right. They sent me a dual friction pressure plate in the kit and then everything else for a Centerforce 2. Well there goes my plans this weekend. I hope quadratec fixes this and gets me a new one fast.

Hint-When you get the correct p'plate.
Remove those weights----:chug:

LG, why would you want to remove the weights? That's what makes it a Centerforce clutch.

With the low RPM of our 6's, they serve no purpose.
Also-I have seen the retaining wire break and they will cause.damage.
Took mine off when I did my install about 10 yrs ago and the same for my son's jeep-No issue.
It's just marketing from CF-CF uses LuK components.

You took every weight off???

YUP-
If you only remove a few-You induce a balance issue.
Look at other diaphragm type pressure plates-They don't use those stupid weights.

Ya the weights are supposed to apply extra pressure at higher rpms and Jeeps don’t spend a lot of time revving up the motor, however I left my ring and weights on mine
