Mtnwhlr, Belizean and Lumpy - Heading out to the UPS store right now (12/10/16) to ship your items.
It's great people like Hedgehog that have made this a great site :notworthy:

HH-PLEASE, let me repay you for the shipping.
LG

HH-I would also like to do that,,,,,,,,,,, Thanks

Mtnwhlr - I'm also sending the other two items and like them, shipping these items are on me. Glad to d o it. This is totally selfish on my part, with the holidays here and my children largely up and out helping others a little makes me feel better about the mistakes I've made in this life. So I say "Thank You".

Michael

I would like to thank you for all your help. I wish we lived closer so I could sit down with you and buy you a beer or two;) I would be proud to call you my friend :chug:

With the Distributer being a Motorcraft unit I hope you can use it.

I got the dissy today from Hedgehog and now I see the problem with the one I got from Summit. The two are the same but the one from Summit is missing a little square piece that is screwed to the outside of the dissy that the cut out in the cap goes around so I thought the cut out went around the wires comimg out of the dissy. And the wires are sticking up about an 1/8" to high, so if I file the wire housing down about an 1/8" and take the square piece off the one Hedge sent and put it on my new one I should be good to go. I have the new gear on the cam coated in breakin lub and the cover and water pump back on. It should be warm tomorrow so I can get it all back together. Thanks Hedgehog for your help to get this figured out.

I was worried that you wouldn't be able to use it at all with it being the Motorcraft (Ford) version found in the '82 Wagoneer. Even using it as an example is reason enough to send it along, besides I like the extra room in the garage.

Rec'd HH's, 'W'. Very nicely done, and I'm so grateful.
Sent HH a couple of pictures of it installed on my Warn winch mount.
Maybe he could post them up here when he has time.
THX again HH, for the outstanding gift!

Kind of you to send the distributor HH.

Got it pretty much back together. Just need to make a parts run for new hoses, gas and oil filter, plug wires and a alt belt. Then I still need to make sure all the old gas is removed. Can't wait to bring my new baby back to life.

Well today I got the gas filter on, replaced the heater hose that goes from the water pump to the heater core and I thought I could use a piece to replace the hose that goes from the water pump to the intake WRONG. The bend is to much and it kinks it  So I went on Rockauto and found one and ordered it. So now I'm waiting on that. I pumped all the old nasty smelling gas out. It was green I had never seen gas turn green before. I can't get that nasty smell off my hands. To show you how hard the old guy I got it from wheeled it it has a 1000 lb sidewinder winch on the front of it:eek: So I pulled all the wiring for that out. I still need to hook the gas line back up to the fuel pump install the radiator, find TDC and install the dissy and plug wires. Tomorrow is another day I hope to make more head way.

Suck down winch. :D

Good progress!

Got it all back together today. When I hooked the bat. up and tried to bump it around to find TDC the starter sounded like the bat. was dead so I jumped it off my Cherokee and it turned real slow so now I'm worried why.

Take your dead battery out of the circuit. It's pull'n all the 'juice' from the jumper battery.
Ign OFF-Put in high gear, and push against the Jeep some to 'walk' the engine to TDC.

I have it at TDC now. And when I was jumping it I had the pos cable off the
batt.

What gauge wire are these jumper cables? Is the main battery GND lead attached to the top mounting bolt of the starter?
I made a set of jumper-cables out of 1/0 arc welding wire. Never a worry about voltage loss.

They are very heavy gauge not the cheap ones like you get today I have had these for 40yrs. My ground goes to a bolt that is holding a alt brkt.
