Child seat in a CJ7

Who all runs with a 4 year old kid in a Jeep. All open with just a bikini top and and stock roll bar. I’m planning to tie the bar into the frame. But it’s got me nervous thinking about it. Any fancy tips for tying in a car seat in the back bench?

I tried putting kid seats in the cj and they just didn’t looks safe. Just a lap belt and a plastic chair didn’t give me the feel goods. I went with a corbeau Baja bench and a set of 4 point racing harnesses. I know they are not kid seats but any cop is a moron to think my setup is less safe (also have a 6 point DOM cage)

Any kid in a car seat in the back of a Jeep CJ, is far safer than the driver and passengers is in the front.

In addition to the seat belt, you need an anchor for the top of the seat. My husband put a sturdy eye bolt on the floor to run the top attachment strap to (over the seatback). We also used some entertainment stuff (https://www.best-pack-n-play.com/crib-toys/) to keep our daughter not bored during the road trip.

I tacked on some eyes and ran top strap over to middle one and used ratchet strap to hold seat firm. With seat’s belts she was safest one in the Jeep.
