Looking for my first jeep and this forum has been very helpful. I hope my questions etc. are not annoying overall.
I am looking at a CJ3b and would like opinions on this jeep at $8K AND CJ3b 's in general. Real owner opinions are a lot more informative than YouTube videos. The goal is a road trip capable jeep for light trail use, and long -slow- trips to camping spots in out of the way areas. Granted all day in a jeep might not be doable and I may regret this whole adventure. So I am trying to keep costs down for the first go around. Seems like more than a few of you own more than one jeep. So who knows?

Space and comfort with that particular Jeep is about as challenging as it gets. I would say go drive it some to see for yourself. Are you young with a good back ? It can be done. I have a CJ7 , it is definitely larger and more comfortable. I drove it 1500 miles to Moab last year.

I’m planning on getting my 7 out on some road trips next summer. I was figuring out what needed to be sorted out the end of this summer, now I’m fixing those things. Hopefully I’ll be ready by spring. I started fitting sheet metal today.

In the video they talk about 20 years ago driving that jeep from south California to Alaska.

Have you seen the one where he goes through Tucson and shows all the surplus M38A1s? Stored in the middle of the desert and probably have low mileage.

No I haven’t. Probably saves me thinking about a trip to Tucson.
