I've got a 1977 CJ5 , runs/drives good, body rough but not too bad as far as rust goes. I've also got a mid seventies DJ-5 with a good body. What are the chances the postal tub will bolt on to the CJ frame? I know I'll have to use the CJ fenders and hood, I just thought it would be cool to have a 4x4 postal with a AMC 304 v8. I also thought about putting a YJ front clip on it. I thought having a YDCJ-5 might be kind of interesting.

It's probably all doable. You'd need to custom make mounting points etc.

Start measuring... ;) You'll have a frankenjeep though :D

I'm down with a frankenjeep. I'm also considering just sticking with building the CJ as-is, and doing the 4x4 swap on the postal. I happen to have a YJ 30/35, a spare T-150 /Dana 20 and a Dana 300 I have recently acquired. That and the postal was free so it's not like I'm gonna be out major cash no matter what.

A1977 frame bells out in the back. The DJ should be straight frame rails

DJ frames I've seen are thinner steel too.

Maybe sell the DJ and get a new tub for the 77. :D
