I have found a set of CJ door the claims are factory. They are the hard doors and he wants $700. The fiberglass is in poor shape and basicly the doors need to be redone at a body shop.

My question is what is the average going price for CJ doors in good shape. I have looked online and found where I can get after market delivered for about $1000. I would almost rather have the after market and everything new versus paying $700 and then a body shop to make usuable again.

So is his price fair or high for the shape?

Thanks

I just sold my original , rustfree hard doors for 400.00. They did need a repaint. Plus the buyer paid AMC 150 shipping

Are they CJ7 doors? they should not have fiberglass in them, I think yhe later Wrangler 2 piece doors had fiberglass uppers, I have seen them in the $500 range and needing repaint/ rebuilds so thats why I still dont have any

The op has a 70s cj. So he has the older striker style, for that style there are full fiberglass doors available. They are pretty cool cause they have a fixed window at the feet, I wouldnt pay 700 bucks for them though even if they were mint.

Yeah it sounds as if he's got some aftermarket doors, though I've never seen aftermarket tops / doors for a 7, only a 5. They could be something for an early model wrangler. Their first ones (87-95) had doors that would fit Jeeps.
As for buying some new doors I've never seen any offered as aftermarket, however you can find some decent ones at places like Collins Bros or other restorer's in the Tx. Az. areas where it's dry, but they are salty in price but $1k should cover it. Shipping may be another issue. I think I might have even seen some brand new door shells (no guts).

Even if those are factory full hard door that is too much. You got to figure by the time you have them repainted, new rubber and any other little things wrong you will be easily over 1k.
I know where I can pick up a set for $400 and I am still struggling with that price....

The aftermarket tops and doors for the 7 were made by ACME. You see more of their CJ5 stuff than their CJ7 and 8 stuff.

I actually really like the look of those fiberglass doors but unfortunately they were made for the older style striker.

I have these aftermarket doors and dont mind using them. Only problem is I don't have the top halves.
