Misc. CJ Valve Cover/Carb Tag Identification Quiz
This tag is on the back of the drivers side valve cover on a AMC 304 . No clue if it's original as they were on the passenger front as far as I was aware. Could be just a random... Was curious about the year because I was told '5' meant 1972, although 1975 would make sense. Appreciate the reply.I'm assuming the 1st is your AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l valve cover tag? It does not look like it is on a running engine and the code looks like a v8 tag.
So this means that carb (tag) could have been on any motorcraft 2100 between 71-74? Any other intel from it?
Yes any 71 to 74 mfg year but makes sense if it's on a 75 AMC 304 .So this means that carb (tag) could have been on any motorcraft 2100 between 71-74? Any other intel from it?
Thank you for the reply.

If you swap valve covers from left to right (maybe new gaskets at some time?) the tag goes from front to back...
