I went on a "most difficult" trail last weekend, both steep and what were relatively uncomfortable sidehill sections. What would be a "safe" sidehill limit?

Thanks :eek::eek:

Anything that doesn't let the rubber side up! lol

That answer really depends on too many factors to quantify. Things like type of terrain, amount of lift (and quality of lift), familiarity of your vehicle, Going different directions (how much does each passenger weigh?), right down to amount of tire pressure in each tire will change to the answer for every Jeep and person.

:agree: Thre is no real answer for everyone. Your figure it out as you wheel more, hopefully without ending up on your side.

My experience is that you will scare yourself before you will actually roll. It takes more trails to learn the limits of your rig. And as stated above every rig and every person it will be different. I scare myself a lot and haven't rolled over yet. I try a different line or do something different.

My wife starts screaming way before it tips over.:D

:)WACJ5 , All good advise from everyone , more time on the trail will help you hone your abilities and confidence..........don't be reluctant to use a less challenging route around a tough spot.

Keep in mind your early CJ has on average has 3 inch narrower axles widths than the later CJ's have unless yours have been changed. Point is a person with wider axles may make that side hill look easy.

:D:D:D:D

Very good comments all, and especially true of the last as nearly everyone I run with has either a newer CJ and or has changed axles. Nicer in tight trails but adrenalin filled on sidehills.
