I have a pretty simple question. I am about to start design on a full roll cage for our 79 CJ7 . Problem is, the PO replaced much of the front of the floor with whatever he found laying around, or managed to steal:eek:. (like aluminum road signs.) Although we plan on putting in all new floor panels, that's just not going to happen this year since the floor is still functional, and doesn't look too bad. Here is the dilemma. I am going to attach the roll cage to the frame by doing the usual sandwiching of the floor between the frame tie in's and the roll cage. Since the floor is probably not at the original height, I don't want to design the roll cage based on the uneven floor. I would rather design it with OEM floor location, and shim as necessary until I rebuild the floor. The dimension I am looking for is from the door sill to the floor.

Thanks mtnwhlr, I assume that the passenger side is the same. I can get started on my roll cage build design now. :)
