Hello to all of you that have gone before me in these CJ shop adventures!

Bought my wife a cool lifted CJ7 . drove it off road and the front drive shaft hit and busted the Transmission housing.
Repaired the Transmission but I am still looking for a solution to get the drive shaft / Transmission clearance. We have the TF727 Transmission and a Dana 20 Transfer Case that apparently you can not clock.
Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated!:chug:

Pictures would help--

You will most likely have to go to a 2 piece front driveline, with the portion closest to the Transmission angled out towards the frame, and a center support type bearing and mount, then angling the longer portion of the shaft back to the front axle.
How it is usually done on CJ models when using 727.

Oh I see its a clearance issue. Swapping a Dana 300 should be a direct bolt up, then clock. I would do that if it solves. The clearance issue

Is a two piece drive shaft a reliable, strong solution IYO?
I need a new longer drive shaft any way as the front axel has moved forward with the news 4 link.

Having a shaft modified for a 300 is way cheaper than the 2 piece option. Like $400+ , you can get a good 300 for $100 ish.

Poor Jeep I feel sorry for it. You could do somehting completely radical, you could lower it down to a reasonable height ...... Yeah I know, but I'm just sayin'.

I did lower the poor little thing.
I also 4 linked and extended the front end so now the clearance problem is even worse. Since the front end is now extended I will need a new drive shaft anyway.

If you have a driveshaft shop near you they might be able to save most of your existing drive shatf.

:) a whole customized Dana 300 for $100 ..... I love the humor in the forum

Thats not going to happen. A Dana 300 that needs rebuilt will go for around $100. A good used one will be $200 -$300. One with a 4 to 1 kit? At least $450 -$600.

Anyone have an ultra low Dana 300 for a $100 ish?

True , no harm in asking. :) All offers should be sent via pm please. ;)
If you don't ask the answer is always NO with out a doubt.
Let me rephrase.
Anyone have an ultra low Dana 300 they want to sell me?

IIRC a TF999 will solve that problem. I'm not sure a Dana 300 will though.
If I'm wrong someone here will correct me.
