Body CJ7 grill "bumps" question

What are these 6 nubs on this CJ7 grill? Google image search doesn't show them on any other pics and it is driving me crazy. Chrome overlay mounting points added in over the years maybe?

Are you the original owner, if not, I know you might not want to hear this, but it may have been used to plow, and possibly mounting points for the radiator cover, a fabric cover to increase heat in the winter

Not mine, it is for sale locally. I've never seen those before and wondered if it had a mesh or chrome cover at one time. Fabric cover makes sense though.

I have 4 on mine. I only put the top 2 and bottom 2 and left the middle 2 off. Bug screen. Nylon. Not the SS one.
