CJ7 Omix - ADA Hardtop seal kit

I am getting ready to put the hardtop on for the winter for the first time. So my question is...
Has anyone used this hardtop kit?
Omix-ADA - 12304.10 - Hardtop Weatherstrip Kit and Pipe, 76-95 Jeep CJ & Wrangler

Can you tell me what all it replaces?

Without having a good picture, it should replace the seal on the bottom of both sides that touch the tub, the bottom of the hatch, and the lip that sits on top of the windshield.

I had a kit, not sure who made it but probably omix-ada and it included the strip for down each side and a "D" seal that went across the front, on top of the existing seal (which is an "O" tube). They were specific about not removing the old one. But that all that it came with. there is no seal across the hatch area because it's on the hatch itself, which you can buy separately.

I just pulled my top off tonight with the intention of sealing it. I bought weather strip at Lowes but don't think it is what i want to use.

In the Omix-Ada kit, it looks like there is a piece that is round (like a rubber tube). Does it lay on the flat/horizontal part of the windshield frame? How wide/thick is it? My top has a teardrop piece (that is the cross section shape)that is under the front lip of the top, that is 3/8" wide that goes the length of the windshield frame. It's not enough, I'd like to think something else can go on the windshield frame to give it a bit more cushion.

The other thing I ran into was the metal piece that is riveted to my top, that screws into the windshield frame, was really loose. I drilled out the rivets to remove them, intending to re-rivet it tightly. The holes in the fiberglass top are wallered out. They should be 3/16 but they are anywhere from 1/4" to a few that are a good 3/8", too big to hold the pop rivets. Has anybody ran into this? What are possible solutions?

I don`t have that problem because I do not Buy Omix-Ada-Rugged Ridge-Outland, Chinese made Arab owned parts. I keep telling people to not buy that , but no one listens, until after the fact.

Doesn't matter LG - answer would have obviously been helpful for him if it had been posted 3 years ago - then he wouldn't have asked Unless MoGas has the answer, in which case post a link for others if it gets hit on a search again.

and now, if anyone else has the info that can complete this thread, it will do better for someone next time it's searched.

At least MoGas searched first before starting a new thread...

Dead-end threads can still be useful if they're completed 3 years later...
