Hello all.
Does anyone here have any knowledge in regards to the computer emissions system for the CJ7 ?
I drive a 85 CJ7 4cyl and have been trying to revive the computer system. I have manually checked all the system components that talk to the MCU and everything seems to be operational on their own, however they do not function together as they should under a working system.
I did the manual diagnostic test provided by the factory service manual. The tested concluded that I have a short in the wiring harness of either the WOT or Closed Throttle switches. I found nothing.
The only thing I was able to find is that the idle relay is not receiving voltage from the MCU, but this should only hinder the sole-vac and not everything else. It seems as if the MCU is is not doing anything, but the diagnostic test suggest that it still works.
My question is, what would hinder the system to malfunction if all the components seem up to snuff and there seems to be no shorts? Is there any other components i should check, or tests i can run?
