My radiator cap is on the right side of the Jeep and the overflow fitting is pointing to the right. Seems very different than your Jeep. Any idea why this is?

I don’t have the original radiator, but the reservoirs in question are original and in the factory location for a 1982 and yours is a 1980. They might differ. Regardless, the location of the cap should not be an issue. Run a longer hose and route it correctly. Good luck.

My 85 with the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l is under the master cylinder another item I should replace I ever want a washer for my windshield.

i mounted my overflow under the battery and windshield washer tank in the corner of the fender by the brake boaster
