Deciding what to buy a CJ or TJ

BTW: You guys are WAY too picky . This is how I purchased my CJ:


frame/empty tub with title, and leaf springs. NOTHING else. But the VIN and title match to give me a 1977 CJ7 when I am done.

What do you mean, CJ's all come with factory 360degree AC.
CJ's may nickel and dime you, but when a tj breaks down it will be twenties you dish out not nickels and dimes. Cj's are simplistic, while those chrysler things are not.

+1. I've got 120k+ miles on my dailydriver TJ, and while it has been extremely reliable, it has also been expensive when repairs or upgrades were needed. A lot of stupid engineering went into the TJ, which often means pricey repairs - headers that crack, the lack of a fixed-yoke t'case output, t'case shift linkage that mounts to the body, plastic-ended radiator, a double-cat manifold-to-main cat downpipe assembly that costs nearly $1k to replace, etc.

If you need a daily driver and want A/C, go with the TJ. It is a nice platform that will serve you well. I have really enjoyed mine. If you are willing to live with 1960s technology so you can have the look and the style, go with the CJ, but understand that you're going to be on your own with tuning and timing adjustments, and will need to do more maintenance yourself with parts that may not be in stock at the local parts house when you need them.
