do all jeeps?

old jeeps that is ride like farm tractors or is there something really
wrong with mine ?I like my jeep but my wife looked like we were
on a roller coaster on her first ride .Jeep has 35's and a t least
a body lift if not more pics in my gallery I do not know how to
tell if it has any other lift or not but it is a rough ride.Would going
to stock size tires help?

One thing that may help would be to check the air pressure in your tires. Most make the mistake of putting 32-35 PSI when in fact it will roll smother and wear better closer to 25-28 PSI. Try this put a line of chalk across your tire and drive across an hard surface checking the pattern and play with the pressure until you get an even pattern across the tread. And the other would be to get a small lift with a softer spring rate.

Most CJ5 's ride pretty damn rough. The short wheel base and the stiff springs makes it interesting!

Going to a soft ride spring helps just a little, but for real comfort a YJ spring is great and YJ shackle reversal is even better!

when we go for a ride, i always look at my wife bouncing in the seat and say only in a jeep. but see knows its a rough ride and she likes it. she learned how to drive in the jeep years ago.

If it is riding on 35's it has to have at least a 4' lift or the tires would be rubbing really bad. If you want to run smaller tires you could use a smaller lift that would ride better.
But as cj said it is a CJ5 and they don't ride like a car.

Remember, all tires are different - make sure you check your contact patch like kickenjeep said, with chalk or paint or something like that.

Brings up an interesting point, what is the correct tire pressure?
Stock tires go by the sticker on the dash/door, but what about
over size tires. Me I run 33x14.50x15 Super Swamper TSL's,
Been aired up since I bought it never gave much thought to tire air pressure.
Might try the chalk test. But is there a real tire pressure guide for these
types of setups?

I found that my correct pressure on my 5 is 26 PSI with my Pro Comp Mud terrains. Different tires usually require a little different pressure.

I actually run 20 lbs in my street tires (32-11.50-15) and a bit less in whatever off road tire I happen to have. The glass bodywork weighs nothing, and 30+ lbs in the tires would kill me!

If you replace each and every part, it will drive like a cadillac... ask me how I know.... LOL.

Actually mine does drive nice, but it did take a lot of time and cash to get it that way.

No 2 tires are made the same, diff plies,belts,redials,bias,ect,ect.... so no set tire pressure will work. chalk/paint for even patch contact should be your ticket. Now most of you guys/gals know that spring rates work the same way. higher spring ratings means liver damage and lower means you can actually sit in the Jeep while driving and not get shaken baby syndrome. Oops babbling again

kicknjeep is right, mine don't run full contact till 16 lb., but by then they are kinda squishy so I run 20.
