Do you know the correct size of the vacuum hoses?

I took my old vacuum hose the the local parts store for them to match it. I believe the tubing is too small they provided me. This is the hoses that go around the outside the original air-housing on an 1984 I6 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l .

After thirty years I decided to replace all the hoses, I am doing it one section at at time, so I don't lose track how everything is connected.

My engine is stock and I am going to just try to replace all old/worn parts with replacement parts.

I cannot answer your question, but one thing you might consider (as I'm about to do the same thing) is using fuel line stock as opposed to vacuum line stock. While it's not as pliable in some cases, it won't collapse, it will last forever and the price difference is marginal considering how little you need overall. It "may" give you size options in your area you might not have with vacuum stock.

What size did they give you?
I thinking it's 3/8" to the air filter housing.
