Here’s what has worked for me. U-joints can tolerate as much as 8 degrees of an angle, as long as the other u-joint is opposed by the same angle. However, you might experience vibrations if the difference of these two angles is more than 3 degrees. Other factors like shaft length, suspension travel, or axle wrap might have to be considered.
