OK so Im now around here ... ish... I had a question for the editions column but I cant access it yet.

I have begun a rebuild on an 85 CJ7 . It is a spring special edition.

I plan on owning it for the rest of my life and have already bought everything I wanted to add to it including FLAT black military paint and hummer LED tail lights and blinkers.

It is my intention to flat fender it and set it up as a modernized GOVT issue black military jeep.

So here is my Dilemma.. now that I have purchased everything including the flat fenders. Someone is telling me that a true restoration of the spring edition would increase the value of it by double.... DOUBLE !!!!!

now Im not doing it for the value but am i making a mistake?

Whoever the person is that told you that is full if b.s. "Spring Special Edition" was not an options package sold by AMC.

It may have been a dealership package, there are the odd dealership packages that show up now and then. As far as I know, in the '70s it was the cool thing to do for ANCE dealerships to make their own graphics package.

The only options that I know of for a CJ7 were; Limited , Jamboree , Golden Eagle , Laredo and Renegade . I've seen Golden Hawk , but never documentation that it was an AMC option. Most of these were simply graphics packages with some stickers. Others added a factory tach, analog clock, dash pad, chrome wheels and bumpers, etc.

that shouldn't,t be a problem. It must be a mistake on the permissions I set. Can I log in as you to check the problem?

thanks,

As I understand it... the Spring Special differences. were , recalling, special red paint. and seats that were embossed with "CJ"
thats it.

And as I said I dont want it for the value... I want a jeep I can be buried with.
:)

Thanks.

My vote is go for it and hve a great time. And do a build theard with pics so I can watch.
