Interesting. Maybe I will go out and measure my 96 just for the heck of it. Didn't realize they were injecting those in 80

First year FI for the Cherokee is 86 for 4cyl, and 87 for 6cyl.
Just add a gm fuel pump.
 
Anybody know what setup to use with the stock cj tank to put the pump in the tank. I have an EFI 4.0 swap from a '94 YJ. The tank setup is kind of a mess. Is there a pump/sending unit that can drop into the stock 15 gallon cj tank? I don't really want to "Customize" the stock CJ sending unit and tank like it is now...when something eventually fails.

The EFI not installed yet, the pump is the last part I need. I had them "customize" it with a Walbro 255 LPH pump, so that order is taking longer (it comes with an 36 GPH Delphi pump that they would only say is sufficient for factory 6.0 LS swaps). That might have been fine for my 6.6L, but I didn't want to take any chances since it's built up a bit. I have the factory 20g tank, so no baffles and yes I'm a little concerned about starvation when the tank is low. I've read that there is a sump of sorts (low spot in the center of the tank) that mitigates the issue somewhat, but it's kind of an experiment as it stands. A surge tank would probably be my fallback plan.

This is what we have in ours to solve the starvation problem. Never had a starvation problem even with just a couple gallons of fuel in the tank.

I actually have a call in to them as well. I have an Eli conversion and the original 20gallon tank. Having trouble getting the old sending unit out still
