Anyone purchased a water pump online recently? I have heard there are many different versions that fit differently and need to compare side by side with old pump. Wondering if this is true and I need to take old one into shop to compare before buy? Or if ordering online has worked out for others. 85 CJ7 with AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . Thanks.

You probably going to need to know what direction the water flows. I got mine at napa

I've bought a ton of em off Rock Auto over the years never an issue. Just get a quality brand

I don't think I've ever owned a serpentine belt CJ

Hi yes, there are two types of pumps for sure if you are working on a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l ? I removed mine took some pictures of it, then compared it with the pictures at the online stores. I found out the hard way, and have a new one- not matching my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l somewhere sitting.

I just put one on my 81 from FlowKooler, reverse flow for Serpentine belt. Beautiful build quality, CNC impeller, higher flow, Japanese casting, CA company. Super fast shipping and nice Website
