Whenever you find the power source you want, run it to a distribution block on firewall for future uses.

I have two positive blocks on mine. One switched the other battery. Makes adding things later SO much easier.

I have been meaning to do this. How do you create the switched one? How does it get the power only when ignition is switched on?

Well I got lucky in that 77 and earlier the switched power stays on throughout the cranking process. I think in 78 on you have to draw from a source in fuse box.

I wonder if the line going to the ignition box is the best one to use?

I wish I could tell you more but once you find that wire/circuit you just run it to the block and that’s it. Then anything grounded and wired to that block gets power at key. Adding a similar ground block or two is important as well.

Makes wiring projects and cleanups SO much easier.

Thanks. I was wondering if it was just running off of the fuse box.

And yeah, I have a ground block already. Needed that early on having a glass tub.

Good deal. Well a little trial and error and you should be good to go. Best of luck to you.

The older panel for my ele fan has a replaceable relay.
I now see the newer ones do not.
