I have a digital camera and i am sorry lol ill bring it next time! it was a AMC 150 grain vital shock bowtail softpoint, shot out of a 1984 270 winchester (the real kind of winchester not the bull remington made winchester ) and it was 387 yards and i broke its back :D i went deer hunting today, i could have shot a decent 2x3 the horns towered over its ears a good 6-8 inches and the two point fork was wider then 8 inches. When i looked at the horizon all i saw was its horns ha, and i also could have shot a 4x2, but im considering letting him grow a year more because he was already non typical i just want a bigger non typical.

Also nice buck longhorn i wish i could shoot one like that! My biggest buck was a 4x4 with a 26 inch spread scored 154 on boone and crocket, would have been 178 if it would have forked like a true muley.

Remington 700 .243 95grain Nosler BT handload .
The shot 45 yards at dead run. It ran 30 yards after the shot, leaking badly. It had walk within 15 feet of her looking right at her, It bolted when she cleared the safety.
The autopsy revealed a sever aortic aneurysm, that and one chamber of the heart was gone.

Texas is a little different than any where else, there are no federal lands in Texas. There is a small amount of state land to hunt. Most people lease their hunting land, but I've always hunted my own place. The deer in the picture was killed about 350 yards from my backdoor in a thick draw.

I figured it was on your own place and i know Texas is heavily outfitted which is kinda lame  not a big fan of outfitters! How much property do you own? and can i come hunt with ya! lol do you get any elk on your property?

There are wild elk in Texas, but around here the only wapiti are behind 20' fences.:( I use to have 1200 acre place in east Texas, but now I have a little place just over a 100 acres. We take 3 4X4 or better annually. That will keep me in sausage & chilli meat for another year.;) If your in Texas come on by, we could probably find an extra 4X4.

What dates are your hunting season from? and i would have to look out of state tags cost lol and gas and everything and those tags are usually 200+, i know for a out of stater to hunt antelope here it cost like 900 for a tag which is stupid! and Wapiti those are elk? lol

Wapiti is a Indian name for Elk. I don't know what out of state fees are. I'm sure it's online at Texas parks & wildlife. Hell I can't complain much, here in Texas you can hunt whenever ever you want . In NM. you have to draw for tags, even to hunt your own place! That's just :censored:ing wrong!

That is wrong! almost as wrong as this guy i just called asking for permission to hunt on his property and he said yes but is only letting people shoot does. which is his deal but i want a buck! for every one doe you kill you take two animals, but usually better meat and sometimes as big, for every buck you take you get a set of horns! and more meat not as good though. im going to plan B which is an hour drive to Custer,MT on a small block area where i saw a nice 3x3!
