Exhaust manifold bolt? 77 V8

I have another question, The exhaust manifold bolts on my 77 V8 are hollow. They have a 1/8" hole about 3/4" deep. I need to replace them, why are the hollow and will a standard bolt work?

I got mine from a hotrod shop and they aren't hollow. Don't use regular bolts though. I don't know for sure, but manifold bolts must be made of some sort of heat resistant metal. The set I got was fairly inexpensive. Make sure you know what size bolts you need. The bolts that came on my '75 AMC 304 were BIGGER than the those that came on my '82 360. The 360 had a mix of sizes that surprisingly enough were stock.

Great, thanks. I figured they must be special and they use the center hole as an identifier.
