First time CJ7 owner in New Orleans

1982 CJ7 I bought has very dim dash lighting even if I adjust dimmer. Some lights are out as well. Brand new battery, etc. Wire harness looks pretty worn. Any advise on should I replace bulbs first or should I just get a new wire harness. Thanks for any help!

Take the easy shots first. check your grounds, there are a but load of them and change some bulbs. I would save the wire harness for a last resort.

Ditto on the grounds check. Another thing to consider might be the light switch. I just replaced mine because the dash lights were very dim, and would go off when rotating the switch. Corrosion/wear on the dimmer contacts resulted in too much resistance.
