Was looking at ordering a flywheel for my 85cj7. Stock AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l with a swapped in T-18 Transmission . I saw flywheel shims for sale as well at .0025 thickness. Does anyone know if I need the shin or shims? I know I would know after I drop the trans but it was swapped prior to me. Thanks in advance

I would think just a resurface would be O.K., especially if its for the first time. .0025" isn't much.

I was incorrect. It’s .025. What I’m trying to figure out is do these Jeeps use them normally.

I have not heard of many Jeeps using shims, I would think you will be fine

No need for it.......
