Frame

I have a 1966 CJ5 with a v6 that needs a new frame,does anone know what years CJ5 used the same frame?

I looked about thought I had a reference but must be lost in the archives, maybe one of the others will get it before me. Let me dig.

68 they switched the gas tank to the rear, so the frame changes
53 military through 67 cj will work

Couldn't he use a frame up to a '76. In '76 is when they made a bunch of changes to the CJ5 frame. I might be wrong but I think you can use any frame as long as it's older than '76.

nick, wheel base changes in 72
he has a 66
only thing he will need to change with a 67 or older is the motor mounts
with a 72 to 75 he has to shorten the frame
with a 67 tp 71 he has to weld in bracing they eliminated to move the gas tank

Just today i found another jeep on craigs list for $600 and bought it.
It has a NEW rancho 2.5" lift all inclusive and what appears to be a new frame no cracks no welds and has been painted with what appears to be POR that needs an engine mount welded. This jeep has every thing i was looking for, the Dana 30 front diff, new hood,fenders and saginaw steering that needs to be welded up and drop hydrolic clutch and dual master cylinder for brakes, and new brakes all around.
I am sure i am missing something, i will be selling my dana 27 front and Dana 44 rear that i have spares. the one Dana 44 is centered which came out of a DJ the other Dana 44 offset both geared 3.73, Can you tell i am excited?I will post pictures as i take them. The restoration is back on track, not sure yet if i am going to use the new tub or not.

Not sure, didnt come with a title, i am thinking mid 60's vintage,it does have the snorkle in the hood.
