Front and rear bumpers?

Front and rear bumpers?
I trap and hunt them, most of the heat my hogs feel is hot lead and copper  not much on keeping them alive for prolonged time if I can help it. Yep I'm in the same boat as yourself making the beast road worthy. Just finished the "team rush upgrade" tonight. Tomorrow is working on the steering column, dash wiring and steering gear. And yes I plan on making a rack to go up top I just can't make up my mind on if I want it to be full length from bumper to bumper or rear bumper to windshield

Are you going to run with a top on (hard or soft?)? Using the roll bar as part of your rack would make it nice and solid.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I've been wondering about hog hunting. Do you use the meat or is it unusable? Is it possible to sell the meat? When watching the hog shows I mentioned earlier they always make out that a live hog is worth more than a dead one. Do you know why that is? Are they selling the live hogs to hog men to raise or fatten some before slaughter? We don't have hogs here in Arizona yet. Sure you occasionally hear about wild hogs, but finding them is usually not possible. Hunting then always interested me. But, to be honest after watching some of those hog hunting shows I've lost some respect for hogs. It's obvious that they don't bend in the middle easily. Apparently if you pick them up by the hind legs, tip 'em over and stick a knee on their chest and they can't move much from there. Never done it myself, seems just dangerous enough to be fun.

I live near San Antonio, Texas. My son-in-law's family has avranch just south of there at Three Rivers. I've been hog hunting. There are a jillion of them down there. The big ones are very mean and very dangerous. You would not catch me doing some of the crazy stuff you see on TV. Shoot them and kill them. The meat is just like the pork you buy in the store but can be fattier. They will trap some once in awhile and feed them to fatten them up to use for meat latter. The hogs are a really big problem down here. They are very destrutive. I meam they can really make a mess out of a good pasture. Season is open year round down herebwith no limit. That should tell ya how bad they are. But they are a lot of fun to hunt! Rod

I'll be running hard top in winter months and bikini occasionally during summer. The rack will just be for when I take long trips and hunting. The problem is I can't seem to find any pics of anyone that has a bumper to bumper rack, so if y'all find any pics shoot them my way :)

As far as hogs go, I hunt near Abilene Tx, I'm licensed as a guide in a few states. Hogs are illegal to sell for meat dead, they must show up to the processors alive, however you can bring dead ones in to have processed for yourself. The meat is extremely lean almost no fat on them, the only fat is right under the skin so if you want ground or sausage the processor has to add fat. And yes they are mean in all sizes, but the bigger they get the less scared they are of people and more territorial they are. I have hunted them with dogs and had my share of flipping them, it's not as easy as the shows make it look. The dogs are what make the diff. Come over to Texas some time ill take ya hog and predator hunting :chug:

Oh yeah and the meat is delicious, better than any super market pork, you just have to cook long and slow. And I've got a killer half venison half wild hog meatloaf recipe I came up with, really simple and delicious :chug:

Now that's an offer. Can't say as I'll be able to run right over there this year. PM me with details and expenses involved. Predator hunt has been in my blood for years, if you were on the Predator Masters Forum, years ago you probably know me, I was a moderator there for many years. That was a great experience, it's interesting to rub elbows with the big names in predator hunting, feed my name to Gerald Stewart, Byron South, Randy Watson, most predator call manufacturers and they will know me. Loved helping predator hunters until money and infighting/hatred took all the fun out of being on the forums. I almost never look at a predator hunting forum anymore.

:)We hunt them here in California........in fact they have become a real problem here as they breed like rabbits and with a few dry winters have now migrated into suburbia tearing up people's lawns and gardens nightly.........we won't hunt them in the Summer as they are just to lean from moving around looking for food and water.
Once the wet season kicks in during the Winter and the acorns start falling off the oaks they get fat quickly and are more easier to find and the meat is much better.
My Butcher has mixed wild pork with domestic and even beef to come up with some interesting tasting sausage.
