I can totally see how this can be consuming, addictive....and so much fun. Tonight for the first time I got everything put back together, and got to go take my CJ7 for it's first actual test drive. It was soooo tempting to want to try to get it over 20 mph but there were a few minor problems:

No rear brakes working at the moment.
Steering box totally shot causing jeep front to "wander" if I try to turn and then straighten back out.

Yeah...those are sort of important things.

Early goal is just to get it running and safe to drive. Well...one out of two ain't bad.

That's a start. Also it's something for others to look forward to!


This won't be too expensive Dear! That's what I keep saying. Over and over again.

one small step. then it'll be rebuilding the front end, then bushings, then brakes, then, then, then, the list gets longer and the addiction grows. then your pouring over catalogs with stickie notes marking pages and making lists. Sorry I had a moment.
