fuel resistant sealer question

I'm not sure if this question belongs in this section, but here goes:

I'm drilling two small holes (or perhaps just 1 ) into the top of my fuel sending unit. This is to run power to an in-tank pump... Does anyone know of a fuel resistant sealer that would be ideal to use in a case like this?

EDIT: I guess I should also say that I am a bit concerned that whatever I may use should not degrade the wire insulation.. thanks again

Sealers that are fuel resistant are few and far between. If it were me I'd be looking for a grommet or a plug that you can run an electric line through, then drill the right size hole to plug it into.

It also will eliminate any chance of the hole chafing the wire. That's about the last place you would want sparks. Just be sure the grommet is gas proof.

Look up proseal or b-2 sealant. Aviation fuel sealant. Comes in tubes as small as 6oz. If you need an exact part number let me know and I'll find it.

If I want something to really seal and last a long time, I use 3M 5200 Marine sealant. Every attribute you can think of comes up "Superior", for this sealant, except one. It is a real PITA to remove, but then why did you need it in the first place? I just remember not to use it on rubber-to-glass.

On 3m tech sheet it states gas will cause permanent softening. wouldn't use with gas or solvents.
