I decided it was time get my fuel gauge working again. The gauge works, has full swing of the needle. On to the tank, dropped the tank, pulled the sender out, found the rheostat wire is broken, ordered new sender. Started to remove the rust off the tank, opened a pin hole under a chunk of rust, ordered new tank. Fill hoses look to be originals and are cracking and need replaceing. So here's the question, Omix and Crown hoses seems to be on most online sites, has anyone used them? I usually avoid those two because they are mostly :dung:.
I ordered the tank from Summit, a Holley Sniper replacement, however they only show you guessed it Crown and Omix for hoses.

The omix hoses are ok, I used em when I did my tank replacement last year. I mean a hose is pretty much a hose. Don't get their filler neck though, it's garbage. If your OEM neck is still good, I would reuse it. That's what I ended up doing.

What Scout1067 said. When I replaced my sender I also replaced the hoses, which were omix. Been on over a year and no problems.

Thanks for the replies. I did look at Rockauto, I have bought several parts from them, but it seems their shipping has gone way up. I tried Napa but nothing shows up for a CJ, so I guess I'll place an order to Summit for the hoses.

Get the part number from rock but go to Napa with the # and order it... :)

I didnt get much life out of the Crown/Omix filler/vent hose's before they cracked and leaked again, 3 years tops. Went to the local commercial hose guys (called The Hoseman ;) ) and they hunted around in their parts bins and found hoses that worked for me. Been almost 3 years and no signs of deterioration yet

I just ordered hoses and a new filler from MTS. The filler neck is infinitely better than the OMIX one I used to have. That POS had two tiny booger welds that held everything together and a year of filling up the gas tank broke both.

I called Summit and while chatting with the sales guy said they also have Fairchild hoses listed, so I ordered a set of those. The Fairchild brand is carried by Rockauto too. So will see if those are any better.

I completely forgot about them, rats! I will add MTS to my list of CJ parts vendors, so I won't forget them.

Barney's Jeep Parts is another good one.

I put the MTS 21 gallon tank in mine last year. Couldn't be happier. They make quality products.
