Gauge Questions

My gas gauge is an aftermarket stand alon installed by the previous owner. WHen I start the cj, the needle goes from E and drops down below E. When I stop cranking it goes back to E. I am thinking it is an electrical but everything seems to grounded correctly.

What is the correct lenght for a speedo cable on a 76 CJ5 ?

different gas gauges work on different resistances in the sending unit, they have to match. If a PO changes on and not the other it could be a difference in tolerances

No mix and match on sending units and guages.
