Getting started pt 2...for real this time
I have continued chasing an oil leak in my '83 CJ7 since I've bought it. For good measure, I undertook replacing the oil pan gasket this weekend. One of the major problems I faced the first time I tried this repair is that the passenger side motor mount bracket is bent just enough to stop me from getting to one of the oil pan bolts. I lifted the engine, and got it done. As I was cleaning the parts in preparation to put it back together, I noticed that the affected bracket has a major crack in it. I was prompted to start stripping the jeep down to find other potential problem areas. I found the floorboard under the driver's seat giving way, among other problem areas including wiring. I have a long road ahead of me, but I'm looking forward to being supremely confident in the finished product.
