1979 Cj7 258 3 speed . Unsure on the rest yet
I bought a new Grant wheel and adapter kit because my wheel was broken on my new 79 CJ7 project . The horn spring post on mine is in the 4 o'clock position.
Looking at videos and the instructions say the post needs to be in the 10 or 2 position. One video said he had to rotate his shaft 180*. Is this really necessary ? Looks like a pain to do.....

Not too big a deal to rotate the shaft if needed. You can disconnect the shaft at the gearbox and rotate to whatever position you need. You could also drill a hole in the adaptor that came with the wheel in whatever position you need. I believe that is a block of aluminum (red circle below).
