Vehicle(s)
1979 Jeep CJ7 TH400 Automatic 258 I6 Quadratrac Amc 20 rear & Dana 30 front, 32 x 11.5 x 15 tires. Currently a Complete Custom Rebuild in progress.

Also I own a 2001 Jeep Cherokee, White, all stock with 4.0L. automatic, and police package. Best part of that is it came with leather seats! This package also has the NP242 Transfer Case, 8.25 rear end, and trailer towing package.
New to the forum, in the middle of my first frame off restoration :D Has anybody ever added a head liner with insulation to a fiberglass hard top? Located in South Centeral Texas and plan to add A/C, thought this might be helpful, just not sure how to proceed. Thanks, Rod

I've used tractor cab insulation. Cheaper at a surplus store, but here is what I'm talking about. Cab Insulation

3M spray adhesive works well. :D

Thanks for the idea. Looks like an easy way to fix the absence of any insulation. I'll check out the "Limited " build for a headliner. I didn't know that any CJ came with a headliner. If anybody has a original picture, I would love to see it. Thanks again guys. Rod

From the only picture Pete posted, it looks like a piece of carpet with the edges bound. Hopefully somebody could comment on that. I'm thinking the tractor insulation and something like that would work really nice. Rod

I have to walk the dog quick but I'll get some more pics when I get back. Itll be a short walk anyways at 94*. 13 year old Labs dont like that temp much. :D

Oh and as far as the under dash A/C system does it have its own blower motor or does it utilize the heater blower motor? Do you have the unit itself yet or no?

I have seen fabric shops carry specific headliner material. the 3m spray adhesive is a good bet.

Thanks for th pictures Pete. There are very interesting, as I have never seen one. I'll bet it is glued on. I'm thinking I'll cover the entire inside of the hard top. Most likely will glue in whatever I use.

Jeep is a CJ7 with I6, automatic GM Turbo 400 , and QuadraTrac . Plan usage is daily driver, beach sand, and back country gravel roads. Nothing too hard core. Also lots of Texas heat.

I font have the A/C unit yet. Looking at after market stuff. Most designs like OEM, with everything mounted under dash to include a seperate blower motor.

Thanks for the help. Rod

Thanks for the link. Looks pertty cool. "No Pun Intended" :D Rod
