Sure have. Never saw one in person till about 2 months ago. Wish I coulda stopped and b.s.'d with the guy but I was on my way to work. :( It was in suprisingly good shape from what I could see in the rear view. I let the older gent pass by when we got to 2 lanes and it looked just as good from the side. We exchanged waves , but I havent seen it since.

Never saw that version in person. I thought we were talking in general. Not alot of people are interested / know about Jeepsters and Commandos. I always thought they were pretty cool. Id take one , but then again there are many Jeep variations I would take. :D Cjs just happen to be my favorite.

Though about taking the headlight panels from a commando along with a hood and puting it on my CJ5 , it would really mess with people, LOL.

If you look at the front of a commando, they have panels added on to what looks like a CJ5 grill. I look at one everyday on the way home from work. Keep thinking I'd make the guy an offer for it.

Never saw a hurst one before, interesting, I wonder if it brings the same price tag as other hurst vehicles.

I've seen a CJ5 like that. He used the extra room for a welder.;)

BTW what the hell is a Commando considered?
CJ, mix, other?

It's called a C101. The frame to me looks like a CJ6 . When the the came with a V-6 Buick, they boxed the frame rails like the CJ too. As you can see the front body work is interchangeable.

I knew it was a C101, but with the CJ front end slightly modified, and a similar frame
and basically same drivetrain, I'd wondered how much was truely based on a CJ.

Yeah when I had my CJ5 i had been eyeballing a commando for awhile.
But now that I'm jeepless, that commando is starting to look real nice.
Might have to stop and make an offer for it, see if ole-boy wil part with it.
Guess I'll take over the jeeps other than CJ section, lol.

Love to see a build on one of those. Will it be a hostile take over?

I like the early model Jeepster front end. The later models looks more like a bronco.

Do it!! I wanna see the build thread.

I could have bought a jeepster in montana for like 300-500 dollars i cant really matter it almost tempted me just to drive and go look at it :D

Years ago we did a concourse rewire on a 65 GTO (before and after), Hurst started out as a accessory company much like Eddie Bauer edition Ford. The GTO had an auto with a shifter on the tree. All it had badges and wheels and that bumped the value to around $125K

Wonder if we will see Eddie Bauer shifters one day.
