I like a magnetic drain plug myself.
I've noticed that most aftermarket HD covers seem to have the fill plug a little higher than normal, not sure why. Although not as high as those in Pete's pictures.

So do I it catches any metal floating around and lets you know there could be a problem. A win win in my book.Missed this one. I like a magnetic drain plug myself.

what is the reason for your uneasy feeling for a magnetic drain plug?
I was thinking being a drain hole and its location it would have a easier chance of leaking than the traditional threads. However, having time to step back and look inside the box I think I would still purchase these since I'm really digging the looks. As mtnwhlr stated , it would pick up any metal so I suppose those design engineers are what they are for a reason. Its ok
I enjoy the taste of crow..as for the fill being to high I have been wanting a pump anyways so thats a easy fix IF it became a issue…. sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX HD
