Header/ clutch clash

Slave cyl. on 81 cj-7 is to close to header/ex. collector.(causing seal failure). I wrapped ex. collector with “heat shield” , .015 s/s, and secured with hose clamps. But slave cyl. Is still to hoT!. Should I replace header with single collector header/Ex. Manifold. Or, switch to mech. clutch ?

The hydro clutch is better than the mechanical clutch linkage, any chance of bending header collector away from slave cly?

you could try wrapping the header in that area with several layers of header wrap..only down side of that is the wrap will hold moisture which may shorten the headers life
