headlight hood - how does it fasten to the front grill

So i have both "hoods" (chrome lens that circles the headlight) as i think they are referred to off the car and went to fasten them back on. They had been off for many years so i not like i could do any reverse engineering. I only see one screw hole on the bottom and i'm thinking the top fastens by "turning" the hood into a slot. But on both my hoods there is nothing on the top so i'm wondering if they are broken or snapped off.

I searched the web and there are a lot of pictures of the front of the hood but no pictures of the back to see if i have broken hoods.

I have attached pictures of what my hoods look like - maybe someone has a picture of a working hood or can tell me how these suckers get fastened

I've seen those called headlight bezels, or headlight trim rings. There's a thinner retaining ring that goes over the actual glass headlight itself, it should have 3 screw tabs on it.

Over everything is the bezel, there's only one screw hole, and it should have a tab on the opposite side to slide in to a tab with a slot on it in the headlight bucket. The bottom should look like this;

If the tabs are broke off of both of yours they're pretty easy to find, here's a link for a set on Morris 4x4

As Elwoods picture shows, your tab is missing, thy are only held on by those two nubs being peened over like a rivet. Look around your headlight bucket, it might still be hanging around in there, but probably not. If you find it you can sometimes reset the nubs. I've done it on mine, it's not the best, but it works. As Elwood said, they are fairly common, probably about vehicles with then are about the same.
